Push to Walk Names Dave Font as Executive Director
Oakland, NJ – Push to Walk, a local nonprofit, today announced the appointment of Dave Font as Executive Director. Mr. Font will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization including the areas of outreach, programs, and fundraising for Push to Walk.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the Push to Walk family, especially at such an exciting time in its history,” said Font, referencing the recent move of Push to Walk from Riverdale, NJ to Oakland, NJ. “I was initially drawn to Push to Walk by the amazing work they do for their clients. Push to Walk has the perfect combination of mission-driven focus and dedicated staff, and I am excited to be a part of its future development as it looks to better serve its clients.”
The appointment of David Font comes as Founder and President Cynthia Templeton steps down from her full-time responsibilities on December 31, 2016. Mrs. Templeton founded Push to Walk along with her family in 2007 and grew the organization to its current level of success. “Replacing Cynthia will be no easy task, but I have nothing but the utmost respect for the organization she, her family, and the staff have built. I look forward to the opportunity to continue the legacy of Push to Walk in serving its clients and other individuals who may need us,” said Font.
Mr. Font comes to Push to Walk with a long history in nonprofit management. He spent seventeen years with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest New Jersey, progressing through positions of increasing responsibility ultimately overseeing the day-to-day operations of the largest unit in the multi-million-dollar nonprofit organization. Mr. Font brings to Push to Walk experience in nonprofit administration, operations, grant writing, resource development, community outreach, and leadership development.
David received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature with a certificate in Secondary Education from William Paterson University in August 2002. He also received a Master of Human Resource Development degree from Clemson University in August 2008 and a Master of Public Administration degree from Rutgers-Newark in May 2016.
