FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 4, 2018
Oakland, NJ- Push to Walk, a local nonprofit, announced the appointment of Vivian Kiggins as Executive Director. Ms. Kiggins will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization including the areas of outreach, programs, and fundraising for Push to Walk.
The appointment of Vivian Kiggins comes during a time of growth for Push to Walk. The organization, which provides individualized workouts and resources to people with spinal cord injuries and other forms of paralysis, has become a place where those seeking further progress after traditional therapy have found for the past eleven years. Vivian joined the team in April 2018 to assist in raising awareness to ensure that anyone who needs Push to Walk knows the organization’s services are available to them. “I am thrilled to be here and working with such dedicated and compassionate colleagues and clients. They inspire and remind me to work harder and live life to the fullest every day,” says Executive Director, Kiggins.
Ms. Kiggins comes to Push to Walk with a wealth of experience in the nonprofit sector including roles on both sides of development and Executive Director positions. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University she interestingly began a career as a zookeeper. She soon transitioned into an administrative role working at the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, one of the largest foundations in New Jersey and continued that path throughout her career in the nonprofit sector.
Vivian spends her time painting, sewing, and caring for her three cats, two dogs, and recently welcomed her first grandchild into the world. She is also an active member of the Board for Puzzle Farms: Growing with Autism.
