Push to Walk has had the pleasure of working with The New York Warriors over the years. Here’s a look at the most recent tournament they participated in. Although they were eliminated they continued to play—a true testament to their heart.

The New York Warriors Prideful End to the 2017-2018 Quad Rugby Season
The New York Warriors quad rugby team played in the Atlantic Sectionals postseason tournament in Washington D.C. on March 23rd-25th. The tournament consisted of 10 teams from the eastern US, vying for 4 spots in the USQRA Nationals held in Phoenix, AZ.
NY opened the tournament on day 1 beating a tough Carolina Crash team by a score of 40-38. Their 2nd game of the day vs. local rival Magee Eagles (Philadelphia). The first half was a tight matchup but the Eagles pulled away in the 2nd half and won the game 56-37.
On day 2, the Warriors faced the Brooks Bandits (Jacksonville, FL) and the Tampa Generals. Both opponents proved to be too much and the Warriors dropped their two games of the day, 57-40 and 60-22.
Already eliminated from the rest of postseason on Sunday, the Warriors were playing for pride, and 7th place. They won their final game of the weekend, ending on a good note before heading home.
The Atlantic Sectionals ended the Warriors 2017-2018 season, however the group will continue to practice through May. The team typically holds a few events over the summer before officially kicking the 2018-2019 season off in September.
The New York Warriors are a group of teammates that strive to bring awareness and the opportunity for any quadriplegic in the NY/NJ area to discover the wonderful sport of quad rugby. With numerous members with over 10+ years of playing experience, the entire happily welcomes any chance to bring another teammate onto the squad. Rugby is the ultimate sport for a quadriplegics that crave the excitement of a sport and camaraderie of a team.
