A Perfect Day for Golf
On September 16th, Push to Walk proudly kicked off our 15th Annual Golf Outing at the stunning Knoll West Country Club in Boonton, NJ. It was an ideal day for golf, with 94 enthusiastic golfers hitting the course with the most picture-perfect weather.
During the outing, we were thrilled to have a few of our clients join us on the course. Using paramobiles (adaptive golf course), they practiced their swings, showcasing incredible enthusiasm. It was a heartwarming reminder of our why: empowering individuals with mobility challenges to reclaim their lives.
Honoring Supporter Brian Sackett
This year’s event was particularly special, as we honored our long-time supporter, Brian Sackett. Brian has been a family friend of the Templeton family for several decades. His support started from the very beginning of Push to Walk. His journey with us began shortly after Darren Templeton sustained a spinal cord injury from a diving accident. Since then, Brian has been an integral part of our community, witnessing firsthand the transformative impact of our work.
As we celebrated our 15th Annual Golf Outing, we reflected on the remarkable journey we’ve shared with supporters like Brian. He has been there since our first location, experiencing the profound moments when clients achieved their goals—like the time he saw a client stand at the standing bar, take a deep breath, and look at her reflection in the mirror.
Brian’s commitment extends beyond his personal support; he has engaged with families, learning how Push to Walk has given them hope and a renewed sense of purpose. His generosity has inspired others to contribute as well. Brian began making monthly donations, and his company, Boeing, had matched his contributions. Even in retirement, he continues to support Push to Walk, encouraging others to join him in making a difference.
Gratitude and Looking Forward
We are incredibly grateful for long-term supporters like Brian Sackett, whose dedication helps us grow and expand our services. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s golf outing and to those who continue to support our mission. Together, we are making a lasting impact in the lives of so many!
