Push to Walk hosted its first AccessAbility Day on Sunday October 6, 2024 at our new location in Montvale, NJ. It was a picture-perfect day – not a cloud in the sky! Sunshine brought many current clients, future clients, family and friends to see each other and learn all about Push to Walk’s programs and services in a fun and enjoyable way.
Vendors Sharing Information and Demonstrations
We were fortunate to host a range of vendors who generously shared their expertise, products, and services with attendees.
Feeldom Bags
Feeldom Bags donated bags to raffle off and were a big hit with our guests!
Esko Bionics
Ekso Bionics was present with an Ekso exoskeleton for demonstrations and to answer questions. Push to Walk provides Ekso trials and workouts for those interested in trying an exoskeleton as part of a walking program.
Help Hope Live
A representative attended from Help Hope Live to explain their platform for helping those with medical and rehabilitation expenses raise funds to help pay their bills. We hope many clients at Push to Walk and others take advantage of their expertise!
SOAR Experiences
Alex and Jessica from SOAR Experiences were happy to speak with so many people about their specialized outdoor adaptive recreation offerings. They have accessible equipment for many outdoor adventures!
FT Mobility Vehicles & Equipment
FT Mobility Vehicles & Equipment in Saddle Brook, NJ had an accessible van on site for people to explore and learn about options for transportation. Whether needed for passengers or drivers, FT Mobility has what you need to make driving a reality!
Mobius Mobility’s iBot
Last, but not least, Nick LiBassi from Mobius Mobility had an iBot to demonstrate and let people try both inside and outside. The iBot is very innovative technology whose slogan is “Reach. Climb. Go.” Known for providing the ability to climb stairs and go over curbs, it can do so much more! Push to Walk would be happy to provide the setting for a demo for anyone interested!
Generous Donations and Special Guests
We are incredibly grateful for the support from local businesses that helped make the day a success. Wegmans, SQ Pizza in Montvale, and Park Pizza in Park Ridge generously donated food for the event, while Premiere Vibes provided music and entertainment, donating both time and equipment.
Support from Pace University Occupational Therapy Students
Students from the Pace Occupational Therapy Graduate Program at Pace University assisted throughout the day, helping set-up, oversee activities and clean-up afterwards. The students were all a great help, and we enjoyed meeting and speaking with them about their academics and experience that led them to the Occupational Therapy program.
Adaptive Activities and Staff Contributions
Several Push to Walk staff members offered hands-on support by providing wheelchair cleaning, adaptive tennis, and handcycling activities. Wheelchair cleaning is an essential but often overlooked task, and our staff and volunteers ensured that attendees’ wheelchairs received thorough attention.
Inside Activities and Raffle Prizes
Guests were invited inside to cool off, enjoy refreshments, and watch NFL games on the big screen. As the day wrapped up, attendees gathered for the much-anticipated raffle. Many left with prizes in hand and smiles on their faces!

Our first AccessAbility Day was a resounding success, filled with joyful moments and a strong sense of community. We hope to make this an annual event, and we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us.
