Push to Walk Raises Over $18,000 for Their Program at Casino Night

Riverdale, NJ- Push to Walk’s 7th Annual Casino Night featuring a Texas Hold’ Em Tournament on Saturday, March 19 at Route 23 Auto Mall in Butler, NJ was a great success.

Push to Walk held their 2016 Casino Night on Saturday, March 19th and raised over $18,000 at the event.  During the evening 100 players, 10 dinner guests, and 8 volunteers came together to support the non-profit.  The event took place in the cleared out showroom of Route 23 Auto Mall, which was kindly donated by Scott Barna and Donna Christman.

Upon entering, attendees were directed towards check-in and invited to enjoy delicious food catered by Taste of Reality in Kinnelon, soda, wine, and beer.  The evening featured a brief presentation about the non-profit’s amazing clients, 50/50 raffle, the Texas Hold’ Em tournament, and blackjack.  Tumbling Dice, a company specializing in casino games, provided the dealers, tables, and a wonderful tournament director for the event.

As the evening progressed, the number of players still in the tournament dwindled, and the $5,000 VISA grand prize became a close reality to those remaining. Others stayed to watch how the tournament panned out.   Players who made it to the final table each went home with a prize.  The grand prize winner, John Cunha, graciously accepted his prize and with that the night came to a close. “Push to Walk has the best sponsors, supporters, and clients.  I’d like to thank all those who came to play and help; without them this event could have not have been such a success,” says Push to Walk Founder, Cynthia Templeton.

Push to Walk is only able to cover about 65% of its operating costs through client fees, and relies on events and donations to help make up the difference. “Our clients come to us because they see an improvement in their quality of life. We choose not to increase our client fees and instead make up the difference by hosting fund raising events. We don’t want higher fees to stand in the way of them achieving their goals,” explains Templeton.

Donation opportunities are available on the Push to Walk website: www.pushtowalknj.org. For more information, please contact Stephanie Lajam at (862) 200-5848 or slajam@pushtowalknj.org.
